All British immigrants need to present the following documents to officers in immigration clearance:
• a valid passport or other acceptable travel document;
• a valid visa or authority to enter Australia (including electronic visas);
• a completed and signed Incoming Passenger Card, including health and character declaration.
Those who arrive without a valid travel document, visa or authority to enter Australia, may be refused entry to Australia or delayed until their identity and claims to enter Australia have been confirmed.
There is no minimum passport validity requirement in Australia for incoming passengers. But your passport has to have less than six months validity.
Customs Regulations

The customs laws within Australia are very strict with what is allowed to be brought into the country and what isn't and making a false or misleading statement about your shipment to the authorities is a serious offence with heavy penalties.
Thus, you should know that Australia has high risk quarantine laws surrounding its customs decisions. This Quarantine Inspection Service (AQIS) are very strict with how products should be handled to make them risk free. Moreover, they are also cautious about what is allowed into Australia.
Australia is very dependent upon industries such as livestock and agriculture and due to this the quarantine restrictions around animal produce are at their highest. That's why, animal products such as fresh and tinned meat, salami, eggs and dairy products are risk items and are prohibited from being brought with you into Australia when you are moving to Australia. It is also prohibited to bring the following: animal produce; plants, soil, seeds.
It is allowed to bring with you other things, such as vehicles whether these are cars, motorbikes or caravans. They will be inspected by the Quarantine Inspection Service (AQIS). Clearance of your vehicle will only be granted if all of the soil etc is removed, which includes the underneath of the vehicle. It is important to do this before shipment takes place.
Prohibited and Restricted Goods
Drugs of dependence, for example, narcotics, hallucinogenic drugs, amphetamines, barbiturates, and tranquillisers must be declared to Customs. You must also declare the ownership of all firearms and ammunition imported in Australia to Customs. Firearms including air, gas, flame and starting pistols and spear guns are subject to import restrictions and will be subject to release on approval from the Police authorities.
